Buying a Sex Doll in the UK: Customs, Law and Delivery Explained

Buying a full-size doll is a four-figure decision, and UK buyers have some specific questions. Here are the straight answers.
Is it legal?
Yes. Adult sex dolls are entirely legal to buy, own and import in the UK. The only prohibition is on childlike dolls, which are illegal to import or possess — every doll we stock is an adult model from an established manufacturer, full stop.
Customs and import fees
If you order from an overseas site, you'll typically pay 20% import VAT plus courier handling fees on arrival — often £300+ on a doll, and it's due before the courier releases the crate. Codedruns prices include UK VAT and our UK-stock dolls never touch customs. For made-to-order dolls we handle clearance; the checkout price is the final price.
How the delivery actually works
Dolls ship in a plain wooden or heavy cardboard crate, roughly 155×45×35cm, with no branding and a neutral sender name. The courier sees "household goods". You'll want a second pair of hands or a trolley — full silicone dolls weigh 28–42kg boxed.
What's in the crate
The doll (head usually packed separately), wig, eyes, outfit, cleaning kit, gloves and a care manual. Check everything against your order before disposing of the crate — it's also the safest storage container you'll own.
